A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is tied to a specific product and lot. Use the batch or lot number printed on your Wheat State Research vial to locate and verify the matching record.
Testing scope, reported results, and document availability vary by lot. A certificate for one batch must not be treated as documentation for a different batch, even when the product name is the same.
Find the batch number on the vial
Look for the batch number printed on the vial label. Enter it exactly as displayed, including letters, numbers, periods, or hyphens.
- Confirm that you are reading the batch number rather than the catalog identifier.
- Preserve the complete identifier and its punctuation.
- Check for transposed characters or omitted zeros.
- Keep the vial label available while reviewing the result.
Search by batch number
- Open the Certificate of Analysis database.
- Locate Search by batch number.
- Enter the batch number exactly as it appears on the vial.
- Submit the search.
- Compare the returned product name, catalog identifier, batch number, report date, and listed tests with the vial and associated records.
A matching result applies only to the product and batch shown in that record.
Search by product name
If the batch number is unavailable or difficult to read, the database can also display the COAs currently listed for a selected product.
- Open the Certificate of Analysis database.
- Locate Search by product.
- Choose the product from the list.
- Review the available lot records.
- Match the batch number on the vial to the batch number in the record before relying on the listing.
Searching by product is useful for browsing, but the batch-number match is what connects a vial to a specific listed record.
Information shown in a COA listing
An available Wheat State Research listing may show:
- Product name
- Catalog identifier
- Batch number
- Report date
- Tests reported
- Document availability
These fields help identify the record. They do not establish suitability for a particular experiment, protocol, or use.
Understanding common testing labels
The database may list the testing categories reported for a particular lot. Depending on the record, these can include identity, purity, quantity or mass, endotoxin, or other named analyses.

If a record is not available
The database may display Testing pending when a certificate is not yet available for a selected product. A missing public record should not be interpreted as a favorable or unfavorable test result.
For factual record assistance, contact Wheat State Research Support and provide:
- The product name
- The complete batch number
- A clear photograph of the vial label when requested
- The order number, if relevant to locating the record
Registered account holders can access an original report only when Wheat State Research holds an authenticated copy and has permission to distribute it. No purchase is required for otherwise authorized report access.

- Preserve the vial label and batch identifier.

Is a batch number the same as a catalog identifier?
No. The batch number identifies a specific lot, while the catalog identifier identifies the product listing. Use the complete batch number printed on the vial when matching a vial to a COA record.
Can a COA for one batch be used for another batch of the same product?
No. A COA applies only to the product and batch identified in that record. Testing scope, results, report dates, and document availability can differ between lots.
What does “Testing pending” mean?
It means a certificate is not currently available in the public directory for the selected product. It should not be interpreted as a favorable or unfavorable test result.
What should I provide when requesting help locating a COA?
Provide the product name and complete batch number. Support may also request a clear photograph of the vial label and an order number when it is relevant to locating the record.
